the design objective
Working as both a professor and somatic counselor, Dr. Jenna Fitzgerald was ready to define her independent practice and lay the foundation for future growth. Specifically, she wanted a custom brand identity that would capture the primary focus of her work: to cultivate mental health through the power of the connective relationship between therapist and client.
With this vision comes a lot to unpack and infuse into design — Trustworthiness. Reassurance. Peace. Hope. And of course, Connection. The main objective was to design a brand identity that shows the care and heart behind her work as a counselor, one that supports her holistic approach to help her clients feel connected to all parts of their lives: socially, spiritually, emotionally, mentally, and physically.

Connection is at the heart of this counselor's business. We reflected this in subtle ways throughout the brand design.
For example, the logo design includes a smooth modern serif font with a custom styled ligature between “n” and “g” which alludes to connection, support, and fluidity. The upward motion of the "H" crossbar implies hope and optimism. The botanical symbol represents blossoming and
thriving inside a rounded frame
that feels modern and approachable.
